Day 1 in the Life of an Inbound Marketer

Inbound Marketing the Phoster Web Solutions, LLC Way by Bryan ButzWell, day 1 is done.  As I mentioned in my last post, we are going to try something new at Phoster Web Solutions, LLC.  We will go live today with two different websites/blogs.  Both were created with WordPress and take full advantage of some of the great SEO and inbound marketing tools that are available for that platform.  Using WordPress for a blog is certainly not different, but we want to involve anyone who would like to chip in.

I plan on making a post almost daily to tell everyone what strategies we are trying.  Which ones work and which ones don’t.  Which strategies surprise us.  We would welcome your input.  My hope is that everyone can watch and learn for our successes and failures with these two projects.  So feel free to chip in, comment on my posts.  Correct us where our thinking is wrong and take what you think we do well and use it.  We are all in this together.

Yesterday, the main thing on tap was the selecting of domain names and the installation of WordPress on the host servers.  We struggled some with the domain names, wanting to make us of the natural SEO advantages of having your keywords in the domain name, while still making the name easy to remember.  We couldn’t decide which way to go, so we actually went both ways. One of the domain name we used keywords, the other we went for the name and title of the person involved.  It will be interesting to see if there is much of a difference when we start looking at the analytics involved.

The first blog is for a motivational speaker.  We chose the domain name coachturco.com.  The speaker’s name is Kevin Turco and he has been a college football coach, so that domain name may seem an obvious choice but the only potential keyword there is coach as I see it.  The second blog is one designed as a resource for adults who suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder.  It is meant to be a place where these adults can network and learn, mainly the best practices for staying productive and using the characteristics of ADD to your advantage.  One of the great resources for productivity is David Allen’s methodology he calls Getting Things Done.  This methodology has almost a cult following and is known more affectionately as GTD.  We chose gtdforadd.com as the domain name for that.  Incorporating two key words that we feel will be important to this site.

Both of these sites should be active later today.  Actually, they are now but they are not completely ready for the public yet.  Please feel free to visit them and give us any critiques, praises, or advice that might come to you.  We welcome the input.
